Snow Problem (Not that an Englishman’s favourite conversation is the weather!)

Really busy today, lots of pebbles, sand and water in the jar. The fountain is intended as my writing blog, but as I haven’t done any YET today, I am happy to ramble. Hope you’re happy to read!

Firstly the weather:
If you are this side of the pond you will not need to be told that the whole place is covered in a thick blanket of snow. Still we go to work – car wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be. No ice by 11a.m… speaking of Ice I nearly did a good deed this morning (the Girl Guide inside never dies!)
There was a man parked out the front of my apartment trying his best to remove at least a foot of snow off his bonnet with NO GLOVES! Naked hands people! (No coat either.) Every attempt left him holding onto his wrist in agony and shaking his hand wildly like a wet fish, it was like watching myself trying to mend something technical, he repeated the same mistake three times.

I was going to call down and offer a dustpan… he got in his car and turned the windscreen wipers on – ICE!

I went away to get up thinking, who drives a car without an ice-scraper in the winter???

When I checked back in, he was warm and toasty in the car and his windows and sun roof were all snow free.
Heated window car people – they are the ones who drive around in winter without an ice scraper!

I was kind of glad I didn’t offer my dustpan.

Once I was finally up (trying to find paperwork for solicitors took an hour) I need to get more organised (TIPS PLEASE!) I went off in the snow to meet up with Patrick – Family over from USA, a fun morning then followed by work!

Now hot footing it to estate agents and eventually at some point tonight I hope to write.

Writing, Snow drives & Igloos

I have managed some writing today. Currently working on the manuscript & next submission piece (Feb.) I’ve managed to nearly finish my book, the 4th one of the month so far.
Today I have spent too much time on social media!!! I also accidentally left the phone connected to the internet! Stupid! I’ve checked data and let’s just say it is a good job I’m just a few days off billing!

I spent 2hrs plucking up the courage for a snow drive (bad experience in 2010), I watched neighbours clearing snow off cars, so many methods maybe I should cash in and write an article!
To my delight my journeys were safe ones and donning a pair of wellies I got to walk in snow, photograph icicles and see some friends. My brother and his neighbours (& I’m sure all the kids!!) have spent 2days building an igloo… He is hosting one of our American relatives on Monday, I hope that’s not his accommodation! Inspiring though, I may write about the community build!

I hope you are all finding time to write and read, I can’t wait for regular desktop access to blogland… I miss reading and posting on WordPress, it really is tricky on this phone though!

Snow flow or No go?

I have finally managed to access my blog… It wasn’t loading the pages or letting me post?!
As much of the Country is covered in snow I have spent a disproportionate amount of time staring out the window today. I would venture out but; it’s still falling from the sky, I can’t find my ski gloves, probably because I gave them away a decade ago after losing hope that I would ever have a ski holiday! It’s warm inside & I’m busy!

I have managed to start on some other writing projects from my January list. The deadlines are February/March, always best to get a head start as more opportunities are bound to arise. The short fictional scene is printed, over 2 weeks ahead of deadline & ready for posting. (Maybe I will venture out after all!)
