SOLC Slice of Life – The first Piece of July Pie!

Standard

I am delighted to have made it back online and there is so much going on these slices could be bigger than humble pie! I will try and limit myself to news from the past week!

Well the big news of course – which if you follow my blog you will know I moved house! Mr G and I are now happily living with bits of furniture in the wrong room and boxes and boxes of stuff. I am busy sorting the kitchen first – despite it being a good size the storage is a mini size and with the combination of all our things it is a bit of a nightmare. Plus the removal man couldn’t fit the washing machine so we need someone pin-up-woman-cleaning-up-cold-blue-winter-snow-28623149around to do that. And the laundry has piled up, I planned to do final washes at the apartment – I was worried about water everywhere though – and with good reason the floor needed quite a mopping when the machine was moved!

If it’s not fixed by the weekend then we will need launderette trips.

files-archiveI have just under three weeks left at work. I need to sign up for some agencies and the like ready for some earning potential – particularly as I am still paying for the apartment, I did manage to arrange estate agent evaluations this week though! Finally – been wanting to have it on the market since May but there was so much stuff in it I could never have got it to a presentable standard. I need to do a deep clean and some DIY in the kitchen but they can at least come and tell me what I can hope to get for it.

My neighbours are selling too – 3 of us in the same part of the building – I am hoping the ‘no chain’ factor helps push mine and I have a feeling it may be going on for less than the others. (As there are basic and deluxe kitchens and I believe my side has the basic fittings.)

That’s my next mission sell my flat before Christmas! timer

The past fortnight has been a mission – offline – no TV – just work – sleep – and packing! Apart from my friends BBQ housewarming which was a lovely evening and the first time I have been out in months!

The weekend together at the new house was lovely though – the sun finally shining – summer FINALLY here! Lots of relaxing in the garden after weeks/months of high stress house move feelings! It took us a while to get here but here we are and it was worth waiting for – like all good things.

And in my writing life I have started Camp NaNoWriMo (my 2nd trip to the virtual writers retreat this year, I did 54000 words in April), my summer camp target is just 35000 I am dancing around the 8000 mark – but work will finish before camp does allowing me some catch up time!

Off to grab breakfast in the box city kitchen and read some of your slices before unpacking the house some more!

stock-illustration-13135479-hand-drawn-breakfast-icons I have enjoyed breakfast and reading the entries for this week’s Picture It & Write. I have to do my paperwork this morning but hope I have time to complete 1 last prompt challenge activity.

I HAVE to pack my house up as Mr G and I will be moving soon. cardboard-boxI have made WRITING my number 1 goal all year and up until now managed to write everyday!

I have to work on a manuscript this week for the Picture Book Class (Weds.) so I may still manage a daily write, but apart from that I am putting down the laptop and getting out the bubble wrap! Normal service will resume shortly, I am sure. I will pop into Blogland on my phone and reply to any messages you leave but am not planning to create many new posts until next weekend.

End of Run

Standard

I had a really great time yesterday Blogging and researching online, I am dropping off one quick story post and then I am offline for at least 24hrs. I need to write, and stop writing about writing! I have enjoyed the challenges and it has been a good work out for my brain, (I probably managed a 5000 word count with all the free writing and blogging) I have reached the point where I can now return to my work (writing) – I have also got a busy schedule  today, staying offline will give me time to get my paperwork done for tomorrow.

Besides I was excited to see 6 comments this morning and when I ventured to the dashboard, I discovered it was SPAM! I hope some of you can find a little time to splash in the water of the Fountain. I have posted a writing challenge open for any genre, go and have some writing time!

AWF Monthly

Have a good writing week!

Is it really ONLY Tuesday!?!

Life certainly gets busy sometimes. This week is no exception and to add to the flux I have used my data allowance on the smartphone – I actually owe some extra money, when I checked the bill it took a long time to load the website – ironic if that’s where the fee is from! I am blaming Patrick* for making me check population statistics for the local area. This is something all Americans that I know, know – we don’t over here. It would blow our minds daily how many people are squeezed into such small areas.

I had more assessments at work today so my stress levels have been pretty high all day. I kept telling myself ‘it will be over soon, soon you will be home and you will be rested and it will all be in the past!’

I have had lots of errands this evening including buying balloons (a long story) I am one of those people who goes in for a packet of balloons and comes out with 4 shopping bags! They didn’t sell balloons so I had to shop around.

I have managed some writing (which is a miracle) and I have started my 6th book of the year/Month. There are barely enough hours in the day at the moment.
I’m in the library accessing the blog and won’t be at a desk with access until Thursday (and even then there may be no desk)! I will try to read some of the blogs I follow then and over the weekend to catch up with you all in Blogland! I can’t access through my phone as they have started to charge and payments are high enough as it is -gggrrrrrrr @ 24 month contracts.

This week I need to submit my short fictional scene and schedule February’s writing opportunities. I have managed to get one of those ‘Organise your whole family’ calendars and I have started to use it just for myself! Excessive?! Me…. ??? (For people who know me and follow my blog that is funny!)

Right now I am just heading home, to eat fruit (1st healthy shop of the year) and breathe!

* I think you are the 1st person to be named on my blog! What an honour… and the answer in 93,200 estimated in 2011.
