Today I took my mum to an eye appointment and although I promised myself my gratitude wasn’t going to be self-centred, I have spent the majority of the day thinking about our senses and how precious gifts like this are.
Gratitude Day #17
I am grateful for all five senses.
I had an eye operation many years ago and realised then what I take for granted now.
Let me not forget how wonderful this world is. Or how much my eyes open up this world to me as a writer, people watching, images, inspiring flashes that pass others by.
We see the parts of the world other’s don’t see.
We hear – taste – touch – and smell with our eyes.
They are, after all, windows into our souls.
Gratitude Day 16 #
I am grateful for a mother who understands what I need and helped me achieve an unpacked lounge today!
Today I am collecting garden furniture and sorting out the lounge (unpacking etc.)
I am going to spend sometime visiting blogs.
I am going to catch up with the online writing course as I missed yesterday’s deadline.
I am going to write for the Slice of Life Challenge.
I am going to look at my research notes and build up the August Writing Schedule to keep myself on track.
There is a submission I have to complete by September that I am going to focus on.
I realise because of moving and having friends visiting I really haven’t managed much writing in the past few weeks. I have had my unintentional break and now I need to climb back on the writer’s chair. Chores can be blocked around the writing and so can unpacking and setting the house straight. I can only imagine how good it will feel by the time I am done!
I recognise I struggle with self-motivation, not working has that affect!
Today I promise to say goodbye to the procrastinating pixie and get on with my life.
I will use my time wisely and push on through the feeling of tiredness I seem to permanently exist within.
I will make these promises so that before I sleep tonight I will have written – I will slip into sleep knowing that I have had a day of achievements and tomorrow I will endeavour to do the same!
Make some promises to yourself today to fit the things in that really matter!
I am currently studying an online writing course in Stunt Writing – this is one of the reasons I post a daily gratitude. This week’s module (which I am late starting, today is the deadline) is all about resistance.
Before I even read the assignment notes I know only too well about resistance!
I have dealt with resistance a lot in my writing life since July – I feel myself pushing against something I have decided to do. Why? Why is it when we want to write and make the decision to write we find ourselves still doing battle against the petulant child inside us who is refusing to even pick up the pencil!
How do you cope with resistance?
How often do you find it working against what you are trying to achieve?
I am grateful for having bought a lovely house and I will stop moaning about UNPACKING and just DO IT!
Gratitude Day #14
I am grateful for a life that allows time to relax and a partner who demands it!
Today I was celebrating a friend’s birthday and another friend’s wedding – I didn’t get to post but I certainly focussed on things I am grateful for!
I am grateful for significant days that carry with them abundant opportunities to celebrate with friends!
Gratitude # 12
I am grateful for the wonders of the universe.
Last night I stayed up until the early hours and it was an exceptionally starry night. I saw FIVE shooting stars!
I am grateful we can’t afford a summer holiday because Mr G can book days and half days off work each week!
Gratitude 10 #
I am grateful for the unconditional love of my mother.
