I have just received an email from EmmaPress rejecting poetry I sent for anthology consideration, mid December, the only flip side is this material can be included in something else I have in the pipeline now.
Now I know what The Beatles meant about long and winding roads, nothing to do with love at all! š
I hope the next submission goes well. Been on that road once, I haven’t mustered the courage to try a second time yet.
Thanks – I trekked this road in the 90s on a slightly more successful route. It has taken me a while to come back and the trails are overgrown. I will get there. Just going to keep going until the time and poems fit! š
You should do it! Don’t worry about courage though, just find a thick skin!
lol, at my age, the skin is pretty thick. I write just for my own sanity most of the time. Had a friend suggest I submit to a publisher once so I did. Just haven’t tried to wade through all the sites to find a place.
š Yes definitely need wading wellies and time! Lots of people write because they have to – it is survival and happiness. Not all writers aspire to be published. As long as you are happy, doing what you’re doing then that’s fine! š
The internet has certainly made research easier though for those without contacts.
Their loss, my friend! Keep up the great work!
Thanks – I am not giving up, at least I can use the material elsewhere now without copyright concerns.
Keep finding those silver linings – eventually they’ll get you to the pot of gold!
Thanks – I will definitely find my pot of gold! There is always a flipside! š
Keep your head up! Think of J.K. Rowling and Dr. Seuss way back when. You just need one person to see the same things you do!!! Good luck!! š
Thanks Kristen – yes they certainly had a long trek in, many people do, we don’t always get to hear about it. That’s the difference. I expose it as it happens on my blog. Here’s to that one person š
