Schedule – Mid Month Madness

Standard

stanza scrabble A busy week ahead, in addition to work, I have an open mic night, a poetry society Stanza meeting, a Flash Fiction anthology Launch and an informal meeting connected to the writing job I managed to negotiate back in September, which is due to start next month!

I am missing one of the biggest Performance Poetry Events this month due to a family commitment, however the latter will require less energy and I need to remember the ‘balance’. Otherwise it would be two Performance Poetry events!

There are also deadlines for Short stories and poetry submissions as well as working on writing some a Haiku or two and other poetry to submit later in the month. typer

Between now and Tuesday I am hoping to learn another set of poems off by heart. I need to write my next 52 poem (this week is about journeys) and I was hoping to write some poetry about journeys this month. I think this challenge may also create the material I take to Stanza on Friday night.

I am also beginning to create a collection of poetry. Busy, busy, busy!

I have started to read the poetry collections that I bought at the end of last year in the Autumn, starting with Be[yond] by Sarah James (the poet whose book launch opened the world of the local circuit of poets and events to me, back in September 2013).

A collection of poems which explore wordplay and the science of language and the universe.

I am also spending the day with webinar interviews playing in the background from webinar

Imagine the possibilities and loving and accepting ourselves, feel good that I took a leap of faith last year and renewed my life over.

Catching Up with Myself!

Standard

I spent some time looking over my action plan last night. I have a lot of offline writing to get done, hence my absence from Blogland at the moment. planner

I have already missed a deadline for a short story competition – I forgive myself. I tried but the ideas just weren’t award winning and so I focussed elsewhere.

This week I have a busy schedule and need lots of energy to get through it, there are also looming deadlines ahead, I have written in the diary which evenings I can spend focussing on some of the writing that needs to be submitted before the end of the month.

Today I am attempting a short story but am also catching up with the Hay House NEW YOU Webinars that I missed Day 1 of (yesterday) – I thought I could access the videos but they are only live for 24 hours. I have it on in the background but need to be selective as there are about 8 hours worth of webinar video source everyday! webinar

I apologise for being behind on updating posts and forwarding awards to others, I will try to catch up here by the end of the day. I have not had time to participate in writing challenges for ages, I really want to, but I am struggling for time. I have a few writing projects offline that I am trying to get my teeth into. I will have time later in the year to join in with these challenges again and look forward to it. writingrut

4th Event of the Month – SpeakEasy

Standard

I had a great night on Thursday –

worcsspeak

we just about managed the venue – the city is under floodwater at the moment and the venue is opposite the river, if the water had been just a little higher we would have been evacuated.

My set went well and I am finally getting to know my poetry off by heart, the headliner – Ben Norris was amazing *Cheltenham’s UK All Stars Slam Champion.

And at the end of the night I received the best compliment so far in my writing life… more to be revealed later.
