“I’m soooooo excited! Wait until you see this room,” Kate dragged Marcia across the landing and flung the door open.

“I always wanted one!”

Marcia wasn’t sure how to react, it was amazing, quite unusual in a two bed semi.

“Wow, Kate what does Simon think?”

“He wanted it for his records, but I’ve made him keep them in the boxes in the garage!”

Marcia giggled, Kate always seemed to get her way, she gingerly walked her fingers across the spines of the books. At least some of them were Simons. She wondered if Kate knew about them after all.

He couldn’t stop staring at the page in his book, this was his great-great grandfather’s dream. The sepia image of the man, a stranger in the landscape, ‘the birdman’ the locals had called him, according to his grandfather.

Dear Child,

Although you may never get to meet me I want you to know that you have been born into a family of high ambition. In this book I have left you my little Prince or Princess, on page 73 you will find a picture of your great-great-great grandfather. Think of him what you will, you will see he was a man of dreams. He held his most precious love there in that cage, to protect it forever, his feathered friend. If I could keep you safe you know I would. I only wish that I could be here for you, always, guess I am a dreamer too.

Know that you were much loved by all who knew you before you became you. Just like this photo, I carry my sepia image of you there in your mother’s womb, close to my heart in my jacket pocket all day. There you will stay in my heart forever and I hope I in yours.

This world will be a flight of freedom for you, take every opportunity, no matter how insane it looks and know this sweet one, you are loved.

Lots of Love

NaPoWriMo Day 26# 26/30 The Shadow

Standard

I really like the idea of today’s prompt – so for the 3rd time since the month began I will attempt to follow the prompt. I remember doing something similar to this at college… Once upon a time – A long time ago!

Today, I challenge you to perform an erasure of your own.

                The Shadow

Stand still,
in love’s philosophy.
three hours      we      spent,
Walking     , two shadows
with us,
But, now the sun is just above our head,
those shadows tread,
to brave                      all things
our infant loves
Disguise                   shadows,

love has      attain’d the high’st degree,
others see.

this noon        ,
new shadows make the            way.
As the first were made to blind
these which come behind

ourselves,          blind our eyes.
If our loves faint, and                        decline,

actions              disguise.
The morning shadows                           ,
grow longer all               day;
day is short, if love decay.
Love is a growing,         full constant light,
first minute, after noon, is night.

My 200th Blog post is a CRY for TECHNICAL SUPPORT!black-tablet-pc

My theme is Matala as you can see and I have spent the best part of an hour trailing around trying to educate myself about widgets. I am attempting to add a sidebar widget so I can display our brand new blog awards here at AWritersFountain. I have seen people who have the same theme have their awards to the right of the blog roll.

PLEASE, Please, please can you give me all your technical advice so I can continue tonight’s main goal of reaching 40,000 words before bedtime in Camp Nano.

Please help me – you are my only hope – really!

I started early this morning and was delighted to make it over the next boundary 38 000 …. I am trying to reach 40,000 before Saturday morning!

camp_11_postcard1_detail

I feel as if my writing is going in SLOW motion – maybe because I am desperately trying to reach the next boundary of 40,000 words! However, speed isn’t everything, there is a tortoise and a hare somewhere that can vouch for that!

I am delighted to say that I was visited by muse. I was beginning to get a little more of the factual information I was writing and low and behold… I created a WHOLE new chapter/ concept for the book.

I am still convinced it doesnt have enough meat (sizzle) to stretch it much over 50,000 which makes it a bit short for a book manuscript. There appears to be half missing! Hmmmmmm not sure how to solve this one – will have to see how much more is lost in the edit!
