NaPoWriMo Day 21# 21/30 Fortune Cookies

I have decided to break with the tradition of following my own poetry path and looked into the prompt tonight. Based on the poem by Frank O’Hara.

(Next month I will start using the camp prompts to create a 2nd body of work)- I will hopefully have a collection of 60 extra poems as a body of work before the Summer Camp in July.

Summer Camp?

Does anybody know if there will be another NaPoWriMo Camp then too? I stumbled across this one quite by surprise just before it started! SO GLAD I DID 🙂

A Sprinkling of Gratitude

Thank you to all the bloggers who have linked my NaPoWriMo posts to their related articles. I thank you for the kind gesture and hope the traffic has been a two way gain. I only discovered it was happening today – 1 week before the end of the challenge! (WordPress Newbie revealed.)

… and finally my POEM

Of Fortunes and Cookies

You have to unlock the door before you can first walk through it.

All roads lead to another.

You can take the bridge or you can take the tunnel. Both have a danger, the dark or the suspended.

Always carry the pen in your pocket point upwards so that the ideas may float up to your mind.

You will find gold on Wednesday, it may be in your teeth or on the TV, but you will find gold.

The lucky number was the number of this food order.

I wanted a student job in my chosen field, instead I write fortunes for cookies, Good Luck.

For the person who is reading without a bookmark, you may use this fortune.

You always wanted to find a fortune, here it is.

  1. Great work! I do believe they do Camp in April and June…I got that from somewhere on the website, but can’t remember if it was the official NaNo or the Camp site…

    • NaNoWriMo are doing another camp in July like the one we are in right now (wishing I had limbered up to 50,000 in November Camp!)
I wasn’t sure if there would be another poetry quest for NaPoWriMo (love that predictive smartphone wants to call it ballerinas!) 🙂
Glad you enjoyed this one – it was fun to write.
